My only issue is that I have got used to a particular nurse and have been unable to have my treatment with her lately. I don't like change at all and I have also noticed other patients feeling very anxious because of this too. I feel it is very important to anyone suffering anxiety/depression to keep to the same nurse where possible.

Response from Berrywood Hospital

I am sorry that you have found the change in staffing has caused you some anxieties. As a department we do try to place a regular named nurse with patients as we understand how important this relationship is and the benefit it has to the experience of attending for rTMS. At present we have had some staff sickness which has unfortunately meant that we have had to move staff around to help cover absence. Currently we also have a new neuro-navigation system for a research study that as a trust we are participating in. Staff are required to train on the new equipment which means they need to spend an adequate amount of time to learn and become competent in its use. Two of the current treatment chairs offer an additional treatment called Theta burst. Again staff need to be trained in the use of theta burst treatment and to become competent when delivering this. This allows for the full service to run and that all patients are able to receive their prescribed treatment during periods of absence or leave. Please accept my apologies and we will try to ensure that you are with a regular staff member as much as possible and I hope the explanation helps you to understand the reasons why this has not always been achievable.
