I attended Dickens Ward at Ashford for a total knee replacement, this was my second visit as I had the other knee replaced in 2019, despite what the NHS has gone through in the last 18 months, the staff were fantastic. They made me feel comfortable from checking in and waiting for surgery, then in recovery and then back on the ward afterwards. There spirits were so high yet you could see some of them were exhausted. Every one from the wards, porters, anesthetist, surgical team and not forgetting the lady that seemed like she was the breakfast, lunch, dinner and the coffee rounds in between did everything they could in such a positive way. I am sorry to say the only down side was the quality of the cleaning which was not very good, but I guess this is down to it being subbed out to a private company and the NHS not having control of it.
