Great service. Keep up the good work!
I attended Dickens Ward at Ashford for a total knee replacement, this was my second visit as I had the other knee replaced in 2019, despite what the NHS has gone through in the last 18 months, the staff were fantastic.
They made me feel comfortable from checking in and waiting for surgery, then in recovery and then back on the ward afterwards. There spirits were so high yet you could see some of them were exhausted.
Every one from the wards, porters, anesthetist, surgical team and not forgetting the lady that seemed like she was the breakfast, lunch, dinner and the coffee rounds in between did everything they could in such a positive way.
I am sorry to say the only down side was the quality of the cleaning which was not very good, but I guess this is down to it being subbed out to a private company and the NHS not having control of it.
I have had excellent care from Lucy and Neha. From being unable to use my hands and having severe neck, shoulder and arm pain I now have more movement. Still have considerable pain but with the help of the exercises give I am hope this will gradually decrease. The care I have been given so far by these two physiotherapists has been brilliant. I know I still have a long way to go but with the their help I am certain I will improve. My grateful thanks to them both.
Have not completed the full service yet. Happy to do so.
I arrived on time, despite having great difficulty parking. The receptionists seemed more involved with their computer screens rather than checking me in quickly. I was directed to the relevant area to wait and was called in about 30mins after my appointment time. The actual scan was done professionally and efficiently.
Conveniently undertaken in the comfort of your own home. Kim has a pleasant, friendly manner which puts you at ease.
In the day surgery the staffs were great
I have received been listened to about my injury and the concerns I have. I have been given advice on how to proceed going forward. I have been treated with care and respect and patience. Kim has been very patient when emails were not being received by me and tried alternative methods of communication. I have felt at ease to ask questions about the details of how to carry out some of the exercises, without being made to feel the questions are irrelevant or silly. She offers additional information if asked to help out with movements that may be difficult and offers exercises that may help to overcome them.
Completely relaxed and friendly consultation conducted in a totally professional and understanding manner.
These face to face sessions were very beneficial. I am sure they would have started sooner had it not been for lock down. The physio looking after me virtually, Chris, was excellent and was the one who recommended these sessions. He understood that I needed to get face to face physio and made a great effort to make sure this happened.
Prabin was lovely! Very patient and caring and has really helped me gain confidence in using gym equipment. He was really kind in organising a further 2 sessions for me, on top of the original 4 that were organised. I felt able to ask him questions and he helped and encouraged me to choose some equipment for home and encouraged me to start the process of looking for suitable classes/ gym time after these sessions ended.
I only wish there had been more sessions available. I appreciate that there must be a long list of recipients for care of this sort, but I think the minimum number of sessions should be 6, increasing at the discretion of the physio you are working with.
I am very, very grateful for the time that I have had and wonder if it would be possible to open up general gym time or classes for people with health/mobility issues like myself so we have somewhere to go once the 1:1 has ended? That way more patients could be helped with less staff. It would also guarantee that we kept up the exercises and didn't let all the hard work slip away!
