My husband was taken toAAH by ambulance following a chest pain episode. From ambulance staff to all in hospital we wee treated with utmost care and respect. When one sees the pressure they are under it makes you wonder how they manage to get through their shifts with efficiency and professionalism they portray. Thank you to all concerned
Went to A&E here on a Saturday that wasn't that busy. Receptionist made me feel like an asshole for just existing and it was really difficult to hear anything in that lobby, and I am a young person who wasn't in shock and has no hearing impairment. The nursing staff who looked after me were fantastic, however they did have me waiting around a lot without telling me what I was waiting for. I found the sanitasation of beds and corridors to be lack lustre and inconsistent in each location I was taken.
First time at Antrim hospital and will never go back. First of all it is a dirty hole. I went there for an MRI scan, nurse form down south was very ignorant and cheeky. I told her I was scared and she said ' it's a Saturday so I don't want any drama'. I will never be there again
I recently had to stay in Antrim area hospital to have my gall bladder removed has it was causing me some pain. I have no complaints about the medical and nursing staff they all did a 100% job in care not just for me but for the rest of the patients.
What do have a complaint about is, is the food that the patients, especially me, was, got to say disgusting.
I hardly ate any of it it was so bad, for breakfast one day I had porridge and it tasted like and looked like glue, or paste. For lunch I ordered soup, and it too was glutenous looking like an unset jelly, so another meal I ordered was a chicken curry and ended up with 2 sausages and mixed veg, the sausages looked like 2 turds on my plate,
As you can gather, I didn't eat vey much at my bedside and went to the main restaurant, although I had to pay for it I had no intention of eating utter crap.
I used to be a chef in my earlier years and did work in a hospital kitchen, and we prepped all meals for in-patients, nurses and doctors and visitors alike and I have to say the food we produced was something we were all very proud to make for all, but what I saw and tasted was below sub-standard.
Right from arriving at A&E the professional treatment and care I received was unreal . Doctors and All the nurses were just so sympathetic and caring .
I have to single out Craig a nurse who looked after me , he was informative and reassuring at a time when I was very anxious .
All the the doctors took time to explain how my treatment would take place .
All round Antrim Area Hospital gets a big 100% from me
From the time of my pre-op, throughout my overnight hospital stay, I was treated extremely well by staff at all levels and found the experience a very positive one. I was given clear information about my procedure, any questions I had were answered and I found the friendliness and helpfulness of staff very impressive. I am delighted to thank the hospital for the care shown to me.
Cut my hand and required stitching. Total time in A&E about 45 minutes. Seen by a very pleasant nurse who went through the whole treatment and gave me bandages and stitch removal kit.
Hope all my visits are like this one.
Thank you Antrim Hospital
