I had day surgery at Addenbrooke's, but stayed overnight after the surgery. All the staff that cared for me were excellent. They were polite, friendly and clearly took great pride in giving as best care as they could for their patients. I felt in excellent hands through out the surgery and my aftercare too. Initially, I did have to wait a number of hours prior to my surgery slot - this is understandable due to the often unknown time needed for each surgery, however, I think some fellow patients I spoke to struggled with the wait, so potentially documents sent to patients prior to their surgery dates could warn them that long waits may occur. In addition, it was only made clear to me I would have to stay over at the hospital once I was about to go into surgery, later in the afternoon and I wasn't able to confirm this to my family until afterwards as my personal belongings, including phone had been locked away. Nevertheless, I must stress that I felt my experience at Addenbrooke's was first rate.

All the hospital staff I met were friendly and helpful. When I got lost a very helpful person took me to the department I needed. I have no complaints with regard to the hospital. Excellent clean and tidy. Also the Refreshmebt area was very nice, plenty of choice and agin the staff were very helpful.

I am so grateful for my Rheumatology care in the hands of Dr Malaviya. It is rare that you find such an excellent capable doctor who also has such amazing people skills. My case is a complex one with many factors to take into account. Dr Malaviya listens, is empathetic and considers the best course of action rather than following a list of inappropriate hoops to jump through. When you are in so much pain being actively listened to and understood is such a battle but not so with Dr Malaviya. He does this quite naturally. Dr Malaviya always explains his findings, and the reasons for a certain course of action as well as any side effects a course of treatment may have. Dr Malaviya is a Godsend to me, an asset to the NHS and an exemplar to the medical profession. I can’t thank him or rate him highly enough. The staff at the Cambridge infusion centre are excellent. They are always courteous, they are careful with needling so as not to create pain and always work efficiently and responsively. I always feel safe in their hands and can’t thank them enough.

I have found all the departments I have visited at Addenbrookes hospital over the last year to be staffed by caring, kind, dedicated professional people who are always polite and listen to my questions and concerns. I have been in the oral surgery clinic, the CT scan department, the MRI scan department, the endocrinology department and as an outpatient for my cancer surgery and the care and kindness was the same everywhere. I saw many of the staff working very hard; some even manning their workstations stood in a corridor but I can honestly say that in my opinion, every person that dealt with me is a both a credit to Addenbrookes hospital and the NHS and for that you have my praise and my thanks..
