The only downside of Addenbrookes Hospital is the expensive car parking.
All staff are welcoming and reassuring in their work in such a busy environment.
I am seen under multiple specialities at this hospital and they are all brilliant. Never a communication problem never, never a diagnosis issue.
I have been on waiting list for 2 years for lower back surgery only to be told the are told to do only minor surgery and emergency now my pain in both legs is getting worse and my mobility is now limited, and the hospital saying they care about their patients while they are killing them with pain physically and mentally I don’t blame the doctors but those who give them instructions most people with my condition are now in wheelchairs because they are refused to treated.
Treatment and care outstanding. Discharge process was appalling. I was pushed into a discharge ward at 2am with no info. Morning saw tables and chairs added to turn it into a waiting room. Staff there subject to a lot of abuse but were outstanding. My own consultant couldnt even find me until 4pm
This needs to be sorted
I have been admitted to hospital previously with appendix problems. I felt that the whole process of sitting in a chair overnight until 5am (I have spinal stenosis) was extremely painful and frustrating, I explained this several times and nothing about the situation changed. I suffer quite badly with hospital anxiety and found that this was disregarded by the majority of staff that dealt with me. The wards were dirty, the chair next to my bed had human waste products of some type on it. The staff were mainly downtrodden and uninterested. There is no person centered care at this hospital. My father has been admitted 3 times in the last year to A&E and has spent overnight waiting to be transferred to wards. On each if the three wards my father was on there were three super bugs. My father and the whole family caught COVID from the hospital too. I used one of the public toilets and witnessed a member of staff come straight out of the toilet and exit without washing their hands. I find the hospital to be dirty in general.
Excellent service as usual
Fantastic hospital. I live pretty central to 4 large hospitals and this one beats the others by miles on any department. So lucky to have it as my hospital.
Massively disappointed with the care on this occasion. The emergency department was faultless but my experience on the ward was terrible. This is the first time Addenbrookes Hospital has failed to live up to their usual high standards. I feel traumatised by the failures of the medical and nursing staff.
Every aspect of my time at Addenbrooks was faultless from the doctors to the porters and cleaners.
