The appointment system of calling at 8am & 2pm is not practical & doesn’t help people who work or are unable to use the phone at those particular times ….. use those times for emergencies Yes but patients should be able to call outside of those times to make general appointments as it does say on the recorded message to call after 9 if you need a non emergency appointment but if you do you are told to call at 8 or 2 which not helpful and very frustrating…… at least amend the message or better still amend your appointment system.

Even though my condition could not be classified as emergency, I wanted to see the Doctor earlier than the appointment time given

The general appointment system is not clear. Apart from the emergency appointment when you have to ring at 8.00am, the rest is not clear- either to ring to walk in or book in advance etc

Thank you for your positive feedback. Patients are able to book routine appointments in advance. Currently (at time of response in August 2021): There are some urgent appointments that are reserved and released (for booking) at 8am and 2pm each weekday. Patients can also access online consultations through the practice website or NHS App. We also currently offer late evening appointments on Thursday evening. We recognise that that any design of appointment system does not suit all patients and we are currently planning to review our system, which will take into consideration all feedback. No appointment left after 9am ! Very disappointed because I am working and don't all day.

Suggested improvements
Listen to patient, extend appointment timing till 10am and refer patients to hospital specialist .

Thank you for providing us your feedback. Patients are able to book routine appointments in advance, but we also reserve some appointments (for urgent use) which are released (to book) at 8am and 2pm. We are currently in the process of reviewing our appointment system. In addition, you are able to access an online consultation through the practice website or NHS App. This can be very helpful for working people. We also currently (2021) offer some late evening appointments on Thursdays. Patients are referred to hospital specialists if there is a clinical need that cannot be resolved in primary care.
