I can't fault the service at this GP surgery and always receive excellent care for me and my family. However, I am unsure of the logic behind the new requirements for children to attend Airedale hospital for blood tests - this means that a young child who is feeling ill is having to travel a long way - for us 4 buses altogether as we don't have a car, and then sit in a drop-in clinic possibly for a long time also. For a surgery with many families possibly living on a low income I find this quite a strange decision and am presuming it has come from higher up in the NHS, in which case I would like to understand why an option of the BRI isn't also given as that is one direct bus from Shipley so far better, especially as the specified drop-in clinics are all in school/work time so mean missing income as well as paying for transport and travelling a long way with a potentially ill child. I can understand that for some children, more support/distraction is needed, however this is not the same for all children and surely this should be taken into account?
