have been a patient of this surgery for 42 years, then it was a single doctor practice (Dr Maguire) Over this time the practice has grown and now has a number of GPs, Nurses and administration staff. I have never had to wait more than a couple of days for a consultation with a GP, and more often than not you can be 'seen' either on the day or the next day. All of the GPs and there have been quite a few over the years seem to immediately infused with that gentle and caring manner originally displayed by the founder of the practice, Dr Maguire. It's not right that I should single and particular GP in the practice, since I have found them all exceptional, but I must mention Dr McAuley (the male one) he is unique. The moment you enter his consultation room you feel immediately at ease. His sense of humour, his ability to engage in general conversation relevant to the to the patients interest, this along with his ability to explain in layman's terms the nature of ones ailment in itself contributes to the healing process. It would be remiss of me not to mention the receptionists, they are always friendly, helpful and well informed. Whether ones engagement with them is face to face or on the phone you are treated in a warm, friendly and personal manner. This all may sound a bit like over egging the pudding, believe me its not, this is just the way I have found this practice to operate over the 42 years I have been a patient. Many times in the past I have felt the urge just to write a letter to them to express my appreciation of their wonderful care, but like many good intentions we entertain, we just never get around to doing it. I am so grateful to come across this survey which given me the opportunity to express my gratitude. As for suggestions for improvement, the only way they could do better is perhaps provide Coffee/Tea and biscuits on each visit.
