I have recently become a patient at Widcombe surgery . Everyone has been so helpful in helping me and my son change to Widcombe . The reception staff , Iona and her colleague Mason , went over and above their remit in helping me , thankyou both ! I was amazed that I received a telephone appointment when requested , set up by Iona with my new GP . Dr Hodson was very helpful and understood my problem and acted on it , So thankyou Widcombe Surgery and all who work there . I hope I don't have to call on your help too often , but feel confident it will be there when needed.
No appointment for weeks. Potentially very serious side effect of a drug prescribed years ago was not mentioned at the time and doctor was reluctant to investigate. Probably this unprofessional behaviour is just due to doctors being overworked but still a clear failure in duty is care.
Update on the care of my Mother. Dr Attah and in particular Dr Abson have been so kind. Mum is not doing so well lately and we are very grateful for their help.
Unfortunately some doctors within Widcombe Surgery are also keen to promote their expertise elsewhere, in private practice! Does this mean they will treat their NHS patients in the same way?
Phone not answered a lot of the time. Impossible to get an appointment over a months wait. Awful on line system.
Almost impossible to get an appointment. Phone may well be answered on third ring but then you get a choice of options, choosing to speak to the receptionist means the phone rings and rings and may not be answered! Trying again will not help.
