I have today seen Dr Davies, what a lovely exceptional Dr he is
He listened to me , and give me a review appointment, really pleasant and took his time with my concern
Receptionists are rude, patronising, abrupt and combative. I'd rather deal with the side effects of going without my medication than deal with them again.
I had to have a repeat chest x ray due to a shadow showing on the last two I had. I rang up and spoke to a receptionist who told me this x ray was normal. When I asked is the shadow still there and not changed and that is classed as normal or does it mean the shadow is gone she could not answer this. My concerns is I have had no explanation of what the shadow could be and now to be able to speak to a GP on the phone I have to wait until the end of February. Very poor service in regards to communication. This is causing me to feel anxious that something could be missed.
Trying to get through to get an appointment is a joke. I spent almost an hour on the phone this morning waiting in the queue, that was after continually phoning for 20 minutes prior to that just to get a space in the queue. When you eventually get through you face the risk of being cut off and having to start the process again!
Also they are one of the few places that still say face masks are mandatory and I don't know why - it hasn't been a legal requirement for some time, even hospitals don't insist on it.
My husband is very ill and I have only experienced an excellent, caring service from both reception staff and doctors at whickham practice. They have helped to make a terrible experience a little easier. Thank you to all.
