I feel quiet disatisfied and very concerned that anti depressant medication can be reduced by a team of GP,s who are not qualified consultant physchairitrist just because I have not had a BP check and A fasting glucose check. All which are irrelevant for the continue of my present medication. Is this because the surgery are paid extra for annual health checks for there patients. Not thinking about the extra psychological distress that such medication reduction will have on there patient. If not quiet severe withdrawl symptoms affecting mental health and well being. Reduction of such medication can be fatal as we feel suicidal.

Response from Westgate Surgery Kent

I am really sorry that you are dissatisfied and concerned We do not want patients to feel this way but we are using requests for medications as a way of ensuring patients have check ups. We have found that many patients and our doctors feel this is working well. The medication is not reduced just the amount of tablets you receive which will be returned as soon as you book an appointment for these tests. If you would like to discuss your individual circumstances please contact me at the surgery Nicky Macdougald Practice Manager
