This used to be a very difficult surgery in terms of getting an appointment if you were ill, due to a calamitous booking service. They now offer same-day/next-day booking, including online. The phone system is fairly dreadful when bookings are released, one often cannot even get onto the queue for over 30 minutes of constant trying. There seems to be a shortage of doctors, two new ones have left within a year recently. Why? I saw both, very kindly Asian doctors, but neither is there now. The waiting areas in,both surgeries are pretty dreadful, frankly. The doctors are, however, very good and able, especially the men, in all honesty. Most of the nurses are very good, apart from one abrupt, hectoring and rude one. Most receptionists are helpful and kind.

First point of call is always the receptionists, I gave four out of five as there is one who you could walk i with an axe in your head and would tell you to call at eight in the morning as they are fully booked till next Thursday. Appointments, it is just an absolute disaster, as you can't get through on the telephone. I rung for almost 35 mins last Wednesday, as it just had the engaged tone. And all appointments are taken minutes after 8am on a Monday, and is it any wonder so many people forget their appointments; they have got well in the week proceeding and are back at work. Apart from that, the doctors are really decent, Dr Kate Havers is by far the best one followed by Dr Napper. But again, I will say I am not bothered about seeing any of them as they are all professional. Come on guys, spend a little more cash to get a mega good service, that's all it takes.

The practise has some very good Doctors, Lawson, Napper and Lawler are second to none. But also there are Doctors which let the side down, and I would refuse to see them even in an emergency i.e. Scales and Barker. The nurses are also a mixed bunch, with one never smiling and who everytime I give blood makes me feel uncomfortable as she comes across as a man-hater and a depressive. Another who has been there so long, she simply is so full of herself I chose to not see her and would rather go to the other practise in Birstall; her surname is a city not far away. Most of the nurses are great, and put you at ease and make you think they actually care about you; just a shame about the two.
