Been trying to get hold of an appointnent due to sudden high blood pressure, dizziness, headaches and also to know what my blood test outcome is and selected these on the website to book an appointnent only to find they have put down only dizziness and making me wait 2 weeks when I have been trying to see a doctor for 6 weeks! Prior to this, similar problems, only a phone call and referred to specialists for which I wait 5 plus months for. Think the referral to see a neurologist was a waste of time as just needed a blood test etc at the surgery which a the consultant did instead! Just seems to be passing patients on with no real discussion or examination in an appointment at the surgery.

Suggested improvements
Read notes of patient when going through online forms to triage patients as I have never had high blood pressure - always low and average. How can doctors think my sudden high blood pressure is not important and make me wait yet another 2 weeks?!

After asking for an phone appointment to ask for some anti inflammatory meds after suffering in pain for 6 weeks and seeing an Osteopath who recommended asking the doctor for a prescription i was allocated a face to face appointment in 2 weeks, after talking to the receptionist she said to send an email with my concerns to the practice manager who would answer in a few days....round and around, jump through hoops. This attitude is why people self medicate. The lack of duty of care from this practice has increased over time and after being a patient for over 20 yrs and only needing an appointment 4 or 5 times in 20 yrs this practice has become a joke, i have seen this practice and its duty of care going from 5 star to 1 star. Getting an appointment is impossible.

Suggested improvements
Get their act into gear, a telephone consultation takes only a few minutes and can be completed by a nurse, paramedic or physio.

Dr Ram was very unprofessional, asking me for what the treatment should be, unlikely I would know because I’m not a doctor! Not explaining anything to me and most of all not understanding what I have to say. I was made to feel stupid, I already suffer with metal health and this is the last thing I needed. I am very disappointed in this unprofessional experience. Doctors like him are the reason people don’t want to seek help when they need it!!

Suggested improvements
Have doctors that care and listen to the patience! Especially the doctors need better communication skills!

The majority of receptionist are very helpful however there is one who is rude, aggressive and whose only role there seems to be to get rid of patients ASAP without seeing a doctor. Her demeanour is threatening as she seems to have taken it on herself to decide who should see a doctor which is dangerous and putting lives at risk and the medical centres reputation

Suggested improvements
Better trained reception staff, they shouldn’t be able to make decisions on which patients see doctors. Urgent requirements by patients should be referred straight to a doctor for the doctor to decide whether or not the patients need to be seen.

I have a log of 115 calls from 0800, just to get a awnser, then told appointment available for 25/03, I called on the 08/03, only offering telephone call from doctor, how do you examine a hand and wrist over the phone, I asked the receptionist, her response was oh what ever, I won’t book it then, until I said book it then, how can I not get wound up by that attitude, I cannot make any constructive suggestions as to how to improve the service, it seems the practice is set up for the staff, not the patient, the only solution, I was told is to stand outside the surgery from about 0730 in the morning, to stand any chance of an appointment.
