22nd March 2024

Submitted an engage/consult form on Thursday morning and got an acknowledgment stating that I would be contacted to arrange an appointment. By Friday (22/03/2024) I had not been contacted so I visited the surgery and spoke to a very helpful receptionist who said my request had not been linked to me. I explained my situation and asked to see a doctor and was told that no appointment was available until the end of April but I could have a telephone appointment on April 17th. The reason for submitting the form was that i saw a consultant at MKUH in November and had heard nothing from them, I phoned and was told that I was on the waiting list.

Suggested improvements
Arranged an earlier appointment

After insisting on a face to face appointment due to personnal problems it seemed every effort was made to not book it! I have had to book 1 telephone appointment & 1 face to face where as they could have been together. Receptionist spoke in a demeaning manner & I was made to feel stupid while she explained in a rude manor how I would only have 10 minutes for my face to face appointment & I was told to only talk about 1 medical issue.

Suggested improvements
There are too many to list! One would be to open up face to face appointments, I do not understand why this gas not happened yet. Very poor

This is the most incompetent health centre. Every time I have telephoned for an appointment the receptionist tend to put a barrier between the patients and the GP. They tend to use Covid as an excuse and it is very difficult to get an appointment to see the GP let alone a telephone one too. If you manage to get a call through at 2 minutes past 8 am in the morning they tell you all the appointments have been taken including the telephone ones. The situation at Walnut Tree Health Centre has deteriorated and I am surprised it has been given a 5 star rating for appointments. I beg to differ and I have been registered with them for the past 27 years

Suggested improvements
Yes the Reception staff should be sent on diplomacy communication course to ensure that their attitude and rudeness is eradicated and beore sympathetic to patients. I have been put off attempting to call the health centre and in the process of transferring to another health center.

The nurse was incredibly gentle and clear in treatment, explaining treatment and care. I always bruise on blood testing and this did not happen at all. Thank-you for making it a caring and safe place to be treated. Nurse was Ella.
