I'm fairly needle-phobic but seeing an RGN who takes a genuine interest in your health & well being and has a great 'bedside manner' really helps!

As a long retired member of the University professional staff I feel so grateful that I have been able to continue as a patient at the Health Centre. (for now well over 35 years!). The practice continues to adapt and accommodate medical developments and requirements Gov. demands in creative and constructive ways. The reception staff are welcoming both in their manner and dealing with appointments and enquries. Although having to deal with an increasingly large population they always greet one in a personal way. I am always able to see my own doctor. His professionalism is outstanding as is his insight, understanding and the accuracy of his diagnosis. Although often reticent to seek medical advice for what I think may be a passing malady I am always reassured that the visit was appropriate and the issue is followed up.

This was my 2nd visit to the health centre. I believe that at a university I shouldn't have to wait almost half a week to make an appointment. Drop-in hours are completely too full. Secondly, if I didn't ask the doctor particular questions before he ran out the door, he wouldn't have explained the prescription or what the next steps would be if that medication didn't work. You have to be your own advocate otherwise you'll be left in the dark as to what's going on. I would prefer to be given the entire picture as to what the diagnosis is before I have to inquire and ask. Lastly, the staff could be a bit warmer and friendly especially when patients can be dealing with a number of serious medical issues. A pleasant face always helps.
