The online prescription service is repeatedly inadequate with failure to forward repeat prescriptions to allocated chemist. Having to phone clinic on several occasions to be informed that they had no knowledge of request. This is not an isolated occasion.
I had my diabetic eye clinic check up today and would like to praise the doctor for his friendliness and for not rushing despite a number of people waiting, some of whom were moaning about the wait. The most time people were waiting was 20-30 mins and for such important and specialist check-ups, I cannot understand the grumbling.
Thank you again for running this clinic and for the patience of the cheerful doctor.
The chap who arranged my appointment only yesterday was very friendly and helpful too.
Kind regards
Jennifer Russell
Having to phone at 8.30 in the morning for an appointment, with no alternatives is just not acceptable. Because of work commitments this is impossible for me and I was told quite rudely that there was no alternative and I should take time off work.
So, I was told I should take time off work to make an appointment. I'll then be phoned back during a day where I spend approximately 8 hours on calls with customers, so I'll miss the doctor calling me. Honestly most people don't have time to hang on the phone for 40 minutes to be told there are no appointments, call back tomorrow. I have had this experience on the occasions when I have taken time off to call.
I've been in significant pain now for weeks, but not able to talk to a GP and was told I wouldn't get to see one anyway, so I should go to A&E. I have an ongoing, not an urgent condition and they would ask me why I couldn't see my GP. I'm not sure I can respond without being very rude.
If A&E is overloaded, systems like this are driving the situation.
The doctors at this surgery are outstanding and go above and beyond to ensure you are on the right treatment. It is however extremely difficult to get through to make an appointment and although there are a couple of lovely receptionists there are also a couple who can be very rude and unsympathetic.
The telephone sytem when trying to get through to arrange an appointment is abysmal and not fit for purpose. Several times I have waited in excess of 40 minutes, even though I am told I am second in the queue.
I do want to say however, that on the last few years when I have needed to book and receive the flu vaccination I have had a very speedy and prompt service. Thank you
