I think the main problem with this surgery is that they don't have the capacity to treat their patients with the care they deserve, they simply don't have enough staff. The doctors I have seen have all been professional and helpful, and most of the receptionists too, but it is extremely hard to get an appointment, or indeed even get a telephone conversation. This can be extremely frustrating and emotionally draining. Without exaggeration I have spent many hours on hold with this surgery, and this week I couldn't even get through, so I went down to the surgery in person to try and book an appointment, but was told to call back during telephone hours, which I again tried, and sure enough, the queue was already full so I was simply cut off (again). To save myself more frustration, my family and I are now changing surgery, and hopefully fewer people on their list will enable them to give their patients the care that they deserve. I called this other surgery in the area with good reviews, and I actually got a person on the other end and not an answering machine! Oh, the relief!

It is most annoying when reading the notice please switch off mobile phones, this is very annoying when a lot of people completely ignore this and myself and other patients have to listen to their conversations. I think the reception staff should ask these people to switch off mobiles.

Hardly any appointments available Receptionists are usually unhelpful Staff are limited I have now left and registered elsewhere

It was extremely difficult to get through to the surgery recently I held on for over 30 minutes to find no appointments were available! This surgery provides an excellent service when you eventually get to see a doctor or have a telephone consultation I feel it's just a real shame the telephone system and availability of appointments let the surgery down. I recently had a telephone appointment with Dr Hughes who provided me with good advice for my illness and also left me a handout with my prescription, which he had printed from the Internet. I was touched that the Doctor had taken the time to provide additional advice to support the telephone appointed. Thank you, it's these little extras that have kept me and my family at this surgery for many years.

It would be great if appointments can be pre-booked and not only by a 'lottery' principle after calling at 8am in the morning. It usually takes 30min to get through to someone on the phone in the morning with no guarantee for an appointment on that day. Extremely frustrating , particular if my small baby needs looking after and you call during the day you are not able to get an appointment. Unhelpful receptionists.
