Made an appointment for my son on the morning and was booked into see Caroline ? (Nurse practitioner) for 4.10. Duly turned up 10 minutes before our appointment time, took a seat in the waiting room and were not called in until 5pm! There was no attempt at an apology for running late when we entered the room and she hardly looked up from her keyboard during the consultation. We were with her for all of two minutes to be told if the problem didn't clear up to come back! If a patient was 50 minutes late arriving for an appointment we'd be told where to go!, receive a letter and told if this happens more than so many times we'll be excluded from the surgery, so what gives you the right to keep us waiting so long? How can you help? An apology would of helped when we entered the room. A little courtesy goes a long way. Could the screen informing patients when they are called into a room be updated with a screen which says the doctor/nurse/nurse practitioner is running so many minutes late? The poor receptionist obviously gets all the flack from patients which seems totally unfair.

We are very sorry to hear of your experience and of course apolgise for the late running of one of our clinicians. Normally a message to this effect will be put onto the display board and we will investigate why this did not happy on this occaision.
