It is virtually impossible to get through first thing in the morning to get an appointment. It's not unusual for me to phone in excess of 20 times, just to get the engaged tone. If I finally get through, I'm placed in a queue. When I finally speak to someone more often than not the appointments have all gone, or they have only one GP on (again!) and are only accepting medical emergencies. When I've queried what constitutes a medical emergency, they haven't a clue. It can take over 8 hours to get a phone call back from a GP. I can't remember when I last saw an actual doctor. I've been with this surgery for decades, and seen it slowly deteriorate from an excellent service, to a very poor one. I'm now hoping to transfer to another surgery.
Doctor Appointments still remain difficult to make
On this occasion it was easy to get an appointment thanks to the reception staff. They were very helpful and professional and went the ‘extra mile’ to get me seen by an excellent physician associate. Thank you
My doctor is great but trying to get an appointment at this surgery is shocking. It is like survival of the fittest ringing up at 8:30 in the morning. One day I rang 234 times and I still couldn’t get through it just kept saying “user busy” . The next day I rang up 35 times before getting through only to find I was 11 in the queue. Once I finally got through to the receptionist there was no appointments left and I had to go through 111. I have been at this surgery since I was a child so don’t want to leave but I feel like if this keeps happening I will eventually have no choice.
The receptionists, nurses and doctors are very pleasant and helpful.
