Always on phone for ages, I put in for my repeat prescription and the ones that give me bad side effects if I don't take them the surgery left out. I shall get side effects soon

Suggested improvements
Stop forgetting to give doctors prescriptions, that's twice now I've not took them on time

Stopped my Wife's drug as "due for review" A drug which must not be stopped. Hospital prescription. Putting her at risk. Kindly Pharmacist issued a couple of tablets to keep her going while sorting it. Phone calls to Tanworth Lane is usually 35 or 40th in queue. Despite promises to resolve it from T.L. no action taken. 5 calls to T.L Has cost me £16:83 on a landline. Finally resolved in a panic, and given profuse apologies. They phoned me, to talk about my recent blood test, and gave me an appointment for 11:30am on 11th Sept at the Village Clinic. Turned up at clinic, was told to wait in my car for telephone call. Waited outside instead. Then told, the previous appointment had not turned up, and I would have to wait. Then told, I didn't HAVE an appointment, BUT, I had one last week (2nd) which I didn't turn up for. !!! How did they know who I was, if I didn't have an appointment? After a row, about me receiving text messages, to go for a blood test, I'd already done, I left. Arrived home, and received a telephone call, to say they hadn't got my mobile number on file. How were they going to phone me in my car, if that was the case. Nearly every dealing with this medical business produces mistakes. They can't ALL be incompetent, can they? I would move practices, but this group seems to have bought up all the local ones. Had trouble there too. Park Surgery? Treated my back pain as Psychosomatic, paid to see a consultant, and after a scan, it appeared I had a tumour on my spine. (Actually a crushed disc.) Union Rd? Constantly streaming nose one side, treated with decongestants. Paid to see a consultant, and I had a fractured scull. Move to Tanworth Lane, and they move it to the far end, and, THEN refer you to the Village Surgery. Went to the Orthopaedic Hospital fro a steroid injection in my back. Wake up totally paralysed, unable to even open my eyes, and realise there is a "Crash Team" working on me. Two hours apparently. Then somebody stuck an Oxygen mask on me, without turning on the Oxygen, but I had recovered enough to turn my head aside. Never trust Nurses, Doctors, or hospitals !! Oh, and Receptionists.

Suggested improvements
Have a telephone system, that doesn't take 30 - 40 minutes to get through to. Be more careful with repeat drug requests, and don't just label everything as "due for review", just based on date. Some are NOT. Don't refer Tanworth Lane patients to the Village Surgery, when it is an out in the country taxi ride away for people without cars. Moving from the end of Shakespeare Drive, to the end of Tanworth Lane s bad enough. When my eyesight prevent driving, it's not a journey I can do on my mobility scooter.

The practice has definitely deteriated since I joined many years ago, absolute nightmare to get an appointment, you are advised to call at 8am for an appointment, only to be on hold for about 25 minutes and then you finally get through and they are all gone. They also say you can book on line at 8am, but if you’re not logged on at 8am on the dot then you’ve got no chance. You should be able to pre book an appointment with your preferred GP, especially if it’s an ongoing problem. DR Witek is absolutely fabulous though!!

Having worked many years at a Gp practice I can fully understand with all the Nhs changes how difficult it is for Gp's & staff to please patients. We are fortunate for now to have a Nhs service but with increasing population it could change. Reception staff don't get pleasure from not having available appointments & I am sure if it's an urgent complaint a doctor will call back & assess the situation.

Impossible to get an appointment. You call everyday to be told "call back at 8am tomorrow). You call back at 8am on the dot and you are on hold for 15+ minutes the phone finally starts ringing and now there are 2 options, the receptionist either picks up the phone and puts it straight back down or you are told all the appointments are gone which I cant understand as I rang 8:00am. I have been waiting for weeks to get an appointment for my ingrowing nail which is badly infected. It has taken me over a month to actual get it seen to (never see the same doctor twice) Receptionists definitely need replacing, there is no sympathy when you explain the situation, more of an "oh well" impression. Very rude. I have been with them for 20+ years before they were even in this new location. It is all good having a state of the art facility but you need the service to follow it up!!
