We are often bombarded by services to do as much as possible on-line nowadays. This includes the on-line repeat prescription service. We are told; it's easy and hassle free! For the last two times now I have found that the collection side of this not to be so. A good four days after the initial request on-line (which l will say is a very easy process). I went into the chemist side of the surgery (which as we know is a matter of yards from the surgery front desk) to request the prescription that had been ordered, only to be told that they didn't have it. Perhaps l would like to walk through to the surgery and ask for it, l was told!! On doing this (something which l felt should not have been up to me to do), l found that the surgery had the prescription in their little box. On both occasions l made a point of looking at the date when the prescription was printed, low and behold it was three days ago! So would l be right in thinking that it's been sat there for those three days? If not it's still a total of four days that nothing has happened with it. On going back through to the chemist l queried this strange lack of a service which required the patient to be "the middle man" to see the process come to an end. I was told that perhaps l should phone them direct to by-pass this system and to have the prescription waiting for me at time of collection?? To say that l ended up walking out of the surgery a second time very frustrated is an understatement. To have some sort of "link up" between the surgery and the chemist......would that not be a good thing? Regards.......Paul Elgey.
