I've been a patient at this surgery for 27/28 years now. It always used to have very high standards. However I find myself increasingly frustrated when I do go and actively put off making an appointment with my GP. It feels like there is no personal care anymore, and that patients are just a number. I've been psychoanalysed by my GP, when I went for an issue with my hip, which was fobbed off as sciatica twice - the insinuation seemed to be that this was a manifestation of depression because I was upset that I couldn't walk. I've had a skin condition now for years that I do not feel comfortable going to the GP about as I will feel like I have done the last few visits which is that I'm a nuisance, making up what is wrong with me or that they simply don't care. The only reason I am still a patient, is Debbie the nurse, but even my last app with her wasn't great. I know it's covid and things are different just now, but this has been an ongoing issue long before covid existed and it's as if the surgery staff from top to bottom just don't care.

Suggested improvements
1) Stop treating people so impersonally. They are patients, not ticket numbers in a queue when did so many in the medical profession stop caring? 2) Listen to what your patients are telling you. You are general practitioners and nurses, not psychologists. If a patient tells you the symptoms don't fit something, don't try to force it into that category and fob people off with pills. Also, yes mental health is a huge issue everywhere especially right now, and yes there can be many signs and symptoms of mental illness, but it isn't always the case that because someone is upset by something, they really mean something else. 3) Please try and sort something about the current system to access the surgery. Giving my personal details on the street to gain access is not something I'll continue to do

Dr Kershaw is the most loveliest Doctor I’ve ever been to.She takes time to listen to you in which is a wonderful thing and takes time to examine you and always remembers what you talked about the last time you were in, I am praying she will stay at the Surgery forever and not leave. Her skills and brains is a big attribute to the Surgery and she would be sadly missed if she didn’t stay we need her so please stay Dr Kershaw
