I tried to make an appointment online but the first available appointment was April 1st and as I was worried about the condition that I needed to see a GP for called the surgery instead. I explained my concerns to the receptionist who noted that she thought I shouldn't wait so long to see or speak to a GP. I was advised that I would receive a call from a clinician who would assess my situation and then help me decide the best way forward. I took the call at 11am and this was then followed up with confirmation that I would see a GP the same day at 4pm. I am so grateful for the kind, quick and efficient service I received, from the receptionist to clinician to GP who saw me. Many thanks.

doctors and nurses are lovely - it is clear that they really care about you and try to find the best treatment and advice for you. It is a shame that the reception staff are not always the nicest - I have anxiety and they stress me out over the phone enough for me to avoid phoning up for appointments. I have seen them being very rude to other patients and are always demanding to know your medical history before you book for an appointment in an uncomfortable way.

I've recently needed urgency appointments and I've been seen on the day. The staff are very professional and the doctors are excellent. I would particularly like to thank Dr Wan, she is an excellent doctor and went above and beyond to help me. Overall I've had a great experience with the surgery.

Consistently takes 10+ minutes to get through to a member of staff on the phone, on more than one occasion it has been 20+ minutes. Generally a poor phone manner from staff when they eventually answer. We were kept waiting 35 minutes after our appointment time- with a poorly child, and no explanation.

In the 6/7 years I have been registered here I have not once met my GP, had numerous appointments cancelled without any contact - one whilst having sat in the waiting room for well over an hour even after checking in. I have been misdiagnosed and sent away, resulting in trips to A&E. What is especially disappointing is the severe lack of communication not only between the surgery and its patients, but mostly between the staff themselves. Their level of competence with paperwork is beyond poor and I have never felt more frustrated. Any representatives of GDPR would have a field day at St. Andrews.The only thing you can really compliment this surgery on is the quality of their nurse practitioners and the general cleanliness of the building. I wouldn't wish this surgery on my worst enemy. Constructive criticism? COMMUNICATE and be accountable when you have made a mistake instead of making the patient feel as though they are in the wrong. FOLLOW UP, if you have referred a patient for a service, have the courtesy to check they've received that service - or forever leave them on the waiting list.
