The receptionist is rude, hostile and unhelpful. She seems to think she is a doctor! The doctors I do eventually get to see are professional and helpful.

Suggested improvements
It would be helpful and useful if the receptionist staff would listen to what's being said.

I am a patient in Springburn H/C and attend Dr Polding, I have been there a number of years now when it was Dr Lyons and Pettigrew and Dr Polding joined the practice. I have multiple ailments and having an appointment with her reassures me no matter what my problem is because she takes time to listen and help me as much as she can,she doesn't send you away saying it should clear up in a couple of weeks, she refers you for further tests. I am very relaxed and confident on a visit with her and my whole family feel the same, and during the pandemic she didn't fob you off she did her best to see you although she was run off her feet,so thank you Dr Polding for being the lovely person you are and keep your wicked sense of humour.

Suggested improvements
Not a thing,I'm very happy at this surgery.

The reception staff are hopeless. They are rude unhelpful and very hostile. Been with this surgery since I was born and so has my daughter. We can never get our prescription on time and reception staff send them to wrong Chemist on a regular basis and when calling to try track it they are not interested.and don’t seem to care. It is very frustrating I am thinking of leaving this practise due to this . The reception staff also seem to think they are doctors when clearly they are not!!!

I've been a patient here for over 8 years and the surgery used to be much better. There is a couple of great doctors who are very knowledgeable, Dr Gourly is a very good doctor who will take the time to listen and try to work out the problem, I actually was her patient when she was training in another practice and moved to DR Milburns surgery after she got her position there because she has always been a very compassionate and capable doctor. Also, Dr Millburn is a wealth of knowledge and very good at his job, I've had a few heated issues with DR Candy in the past but he's an extremely knowledgeable doctor who I really do have the utmost respect for and I believe he always has the patients best interests at heart. The main issues with the surgery however are constantly losing prescriptions and some front desk staff who are a disgrace, I have a chronic illness that means I will have to take steroid treatments for the foreseeable future and on several occasions I've ordered my medications to then arrive 48hours later for collection and be told there's no script request on file. Mistakes happen and I would be absolutely fine with a simple error in an obviously busy environment, The issue for me is the way the front desk staff deal with this situation.......Instead of having one bit of empathy for people with serious illnesses that need their medication they tell you it will need to be collected the next night regardless of how essential that medication is, On a few occasions I've had arguments with these members of staff because I feel upset that I have to pay a hefty price for something that is no fault of my own. On some of these occasions I have told them I will not leave until I receive my prescription which is met with hostility, I have had warnings sent to me by the surgery for disruption regarding this. The sad thing about it is they will never apologise or admit any mistakes, A bit of decency would go such a long way to resolve these issues.....Someone to acknowledge that mistakes happen and they are sorry for the distress that this causes. The last unfortunate situation was for a testosterone prescription I ordered on Thursday for collection on Monday, when I collected my script on Monday the chemist informed me that there was a supply issue and I'd need to get a new prescription for a different brand. I went back to the doctor and was told that was no problem and would be able to collect it the next morning, I went back to the doctors the following day to be told it wouldn't be ready today and to try back on Wednesday. I refused to leave that waiting room until a doctor had done the prescription, This whole situation resulted in raised voices on both sides of the reception desk and in the end, they did an identical prescription to the first one anyway. I had to find the last chemist with the medication in stock which was a good couple of hours bus journey, I also got a warning in the post about that interaction with no admittance of any mistakes on their part and told that my medication wasn't an essential medication and missing it for a few days won't have negative effects, they also said in this letter that they have a 24 hour policy for prescriptions so I had no right to be upset, completely glossing over the fact it had been 24hours since the receptionist told me it would be done. They fail to realise that a male who can not make testosterone, suffers from adrenal insufficiency, depression, anxiety and insomnia is in a terrible state mentally when their hormone levels are all over the place due to missed dosages......On several occasions, my Endocrinologist has advised me that I should never stop these medications suddenly or miss a dose as this will have a serious implication on health especially mentally, apparently that opinion is not shared by Dr Harris. My endocrinologist also stated in a letter to the GP that I should always have access to a sick dose of Cortisone if I'm ill, under 2 weeks after that letter the GP refused my sick dose. When I complained no wrongdoing was found by their own investigation. This surgery has some genuinely caring and extremely good doctors which I suppose is the reason I haven't left but in all honesty, anytime I've been ill in the last year I haven't gone to them because I feel let down by some of the other staff members and my anxiety with it all is too much to deal with.....Having panic attacks every time I go into Springburn health centre just makes going to the doctors too painful now. I will be putting this review on every site possible because every time I complain they find themselves innocent of any mistakes so whats the point in complaining anymore. I advise anyone dealing with these type of situations to record every word of the conversation, If the information being talked about is personal to you then you are legally not obliged to disclose any recording under DPA. I'm so sad about the whole thing, A simple apology for their own mistakes would have defused the majority of these incidents, front desk staff will speak one way to you during these incidents then completely change their aggressive demeanour as soon as a Doctor gets involved leaving you looking like an irate patient for no good reason hence my advice on recording.
