Absolutely appalling level of care, no regard for their patients at all. It's almost impossible to get past the receptionists to actually get an appointment let alone when you eventually see a doctor after triage calls prescribed medication that was outside the licensed dose for that particular medication. They do not care about their patients let alone take the time to listen, did not make me feel reassured, almost like it was a waste of time taking to me

So following on from my review last week - My doctor has put me on some new medication and I need to see her to check it is working. Incidentally my BP is hypertension stage I, so it isn't working, so I really need to see her. As you may recall, I tried to book an appointment for today last week, but could only get a same day appointment (which wasn't any good to me as I needed the results from a blood test that I was having that day), or an appointment weeks in the future, which was no good because my medication would have run out by then. Eventually I was told that my best bet would to be to ring the surgery in a weeks time and try to get a same day appointment. I did that today. My call was answered quickly, which was an improvement over last time, but I was told that my Doctor wasn't in today (she is according to their website). My choices were see the duty doctor who doesn't know my case history (other than my notes) or try again tomorrow, so I'm running the gauntlet again tomorrow. Snodland Surgery - you REALLY, REALLY need to improve you appointments system.

Blood test today - automated check in system not working on arrival but didn't have to wait too long to check in. Got to see nurse a few minutes after arrival. Nurses at Snodland are great - always run on time and personable. However - I needed to book a follow up appointment with my GP to review my blood test results. I asked to be seen by Friday week and was told the only prebookable appointment was today. I explained that this was no good as it was to review the blood test results that I was there to have taken that morning. Then got offered a telephone appointment but explained that was no good either as the Dr needed to take my blood pressure. Was then advised my only recourse is to phone next week and "try" to get a same day appointment. If I can't then I am scuppered - my repeat prescription expires and I'm in dire straits.

I phoned at 0831 to make an appointment and got an automated message saying the surgery was closed (appointments line is supposed to open at 0830). Redialled and then got busy tone for 10 minutes. Finally got connected only to get an automated message "we're sorry for the delay, our surgery lines are still busy. Please hold and we will connect you as soon as possible". Finally got to talk to someone at 0847 This is not the first time the appointments time has opened late. It's just not good enough.

If I had the option of moving to another surgery I would, however I am unable to find another surgery which covers Snodland. You can never get an appointment, the receptionists are very unhelpful and always rude when you try to talk to them, and when you do have telephone consultations the doctors never call when they say they will and I have to chase the surgery. Recently I had a female issue and I wanted to see a female Doctor, my own Doctor is male and I was told I could not see another Doctor apart from my own. I obviously complained and to actually get to see a female Doctor it had to be checked with my own Doctor first. Disgusting service..... patients have rights! Trying to get an appointment is harder than diagnosing yourself these days, there is normally a 4-5 day wait, or you have to have a telephone consultation first (of which they never call on time, if at all). When you finally get an appointment you always have a 30-60 minute wait in the surgery. I've been a patient to many Doctor Surgeries over the years and I have never known a surgery like this one. More often than not I will not bother going to the Doctors unless it is a really bad problem as I just cannot deal with how I am spoken to or how long I have to wait.
