I have been treated to various problems over the past 29 years and cannot speak too highly of the practice staff. Doctors, nurses and receptionist have, without exception always treated me effectively, with good humoured courtesy. Today was no exception either.
I found that my GP (Dr Boadman) is the best GP that I have come across in my life.
He listens, he explains and you feel that he really cares about you as an individual. Thank you.
Having to need attention from the nurses department at the Sandhurst surgery for several weeks after an unexpected minor operation, I have to say each nurse (and I have been seen by all of them I believe over a four week period) has been very pleasant, efficient and helpful in my treatment. Booking appointments (3 a week) has been more or less, problem free.
The nurses have been informative and caring on every visit.
As someone who, until recently, visited a Doctors surgery once a year on average and has only just moved to Sandhurst from London, I have found this surgery a good place to be when you are unfortunate enough to require their services.
The surgery is one of the best surgeries I have ever been to. It is clean, well laid out and has boards up around the waiting room for the privacy of the doctors rooms. I also like how the Doctors stand outside their rooms and shout out our names and greet us before going into the room. It makes it a pleasant atmosphere and relaxed. The reception staff can be quite busy but are still polite and apologise for the wait. The self check in is a very good idea as it saves queuing and is easy to use. There is also a small corner for the children to play whilst they are waiting which again adds a nice touch and keeps them entertained as sometimes Doctors can be running late. Overall I like the surgery and am very happy with the care.
In general I like Sandhurst Group Practice however I do feel that they always appear to be overworked, like they cannot stretch themselves to meet the demand of all the patients at once. The phones are constantly ringing, people are always queued up and while the receptionists keep smiling, they are also apologising for not being able to offer a routine appointment for 2 or 3 weeks. The automated check in machine is nice though sometimes it can be a little slow and tempermental. I can't help but feel a little bad when I need to ask the receptionists to make an appointment because there are always so many other things they seem to need to be doing. They do a great job but the surgery either needs to put a cap on the patient to GP ratio or give them access to more help because they look fit to drop most days.
