I was waiting for a referral letter to be faxed to a private hospital. I chased up and was told that I would have to wait up to a week Very bluntly as they were busy, and then was told it was ready but she could not fax it as it was a private referall. I came to collect it but the receptionist could not find it. After waiting for 10 minutes a lady appeared from the office and said very loudly and aggressively in front of a room full of patients, "yeah I spoke to him on the phone and told him we can't fax it because it's a private referral". This was obviously somewhat embarrassing. The receptionist then kindly printed me a copy of the letter and I took it to the montefiore hospital. When I told the staff there my surgery refused to fax the letter they said that was something they had never ever heard of before, and they had spoken to the surgery themselves and spoke to someone who said they would fax it over. I'm a bit confused and concerned as to why his particular lady clearly was so aggrieved at my request, and then even went on to lie to me? If employees are going to be dealing with the public a certain level of customer service is expected. I am very very disappointed
