I tried to make a routine appointment today. The receptionist I spoke to was very rude. I said which days I worked so couldn't attend appointments and was offered 3 appointments all on days I work!! I was then told that's all they had and told to go to the family planning clinic, she thinks they offer the contraceptive jab!! There's a 3 week window where I can have this and I can't get 1 appointment at the doctors!! Disgusting

My appointment was for a blood test, but after 10 minutes I asked if the automated booking system was working and was told I was next in line. I waited a further 15 minutes and after seeing 4 other people seen before my allotted appointment. Tell us the truth of why I am waiting and make people aware that things are running behind time. I would contact the patient consultation team, but as advertised on the screen and posters it happened at the beginning of May. Do not treat us as mushrooms as we can stand being told the truth.

Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry to hear you felt let down by the Practice in regards the lack of communication and feedback following your recent appointment. It may appear that patients are seen out of turn, however during most clinics there are at least 4-5 clinical staff working side by side, it may have been the person you were booked to see was slightly delayed with another patient. Booking appointments using the online system is brilliant, you can clearly see what slots are available and write a brief note about what you'd like to discuss. This service is perfect for booking appointments in advance. Another online service I use a lot is ordering repeat prescriptions, this system has been faultless so far! I've had to visit the surgery a lot recently due to an on going health problem. Everyone involved has been brilliant, thoughtful and full of advice. I have been referred to consultants when needed.

I started calling the surgery at 0800 and finally got through at 0930. My 14 month old son had a fever which had peaked at 39 overnight despite the use of CALPOL etc. I was offered the minor ailments clinic. When I arrived at 0940 the waiting room was full however the receptionist assured me that the 'queue wasn't that bad'. However at 1140 - after nearly 2 hours of waiting I had to leave to collect my daughter from pre-school at 1200. My son had not been seen. There must be a better more effective and efficient way to manage the patients and appointments?

I am sorry to hear of your disatisfaction with our minor ailment clinic, we have tried various solutions to increase the access to our clinics and alongside the Patient Participation Group we have brought in the daily minor ailment clinic which runs from 8.30am - 10am as I am sure you can understand, there can be a delay in being seen dependant on the number of patients attending. We have two nurse practitioners leading the service, which has proven to be very sucessful. We also have a duty team, operating daily as an emergency triage service.
