The doctor I saw was very good and helpful. However, the system for booking an appointment is very difficult. Once you have phoned up you then have to wait for the doctor to call you. I don't have phone reception where I work and also on the occasions when I have been able to answer the phone, it is not always possible to be in private and I don't want to have to discuss my medical conditions over the phone with people around.
We have just moved to the area and needed to register with a GP surgery quickly. Riverbank was recommended by our new neighbours. We have been very impressed with the helpfulness and kindness of the receptionists in filling in all the forms, and the speed with which a GP appointment became available. The GP Dr Sue McCallum was caring and thorough and even took the trouble to phone us at home to discuss the results of tests.
Called in the morning.
Was seen promptly and everything sorted out quickly and simple.
Actually I didn't see the human receptionist. I was directed to my waiting area by a touch screen system, which worked well.
I had a very thorough, in depth discussion about my recent heart attack. The GP explained the hospital discharge letter and what would happen next. She reviewed my TTO/TTA medication and made a repeat prescription. She also examined me and discussed driving etc.
All very helpful.
I am very disappointed that you are not pro-active in helping people with weight problems. I am carer/relative for one of your patients who was told 'it's just will power'. There are so many psychological blocks preventing success, very unhappy lives, shyness, ignorance, previous medical intervention, gut micro-biota. Surely these need to be examined?
You call people in for other checks, couldn't you call people in to find out what is stopping them achieve weight loss? Surely it is financially prudent to do this let alone human consideration.
