Apparently the practice has been taken over by the health board. Now seems impossible to even speak to a doctor, let alone see one. After trying on and off for three weeks I have been told they will get a medic will ring me (been told this before and heard nothing) so that I’m not taking up an appointment slot! Clearly you have to be on deaths door to warrant the attention of a gp. Phone wait is ridiculous. Reception staff variable. One is very pleasant, another is disinterested and rude. Can’t rate cleanliness because I can’t get through the door.

Suggested improvements
Let your patients SEE a doctor!! Stop having receptionists fob patients off. My condition in painful but not life threatening. However, somebody is going to die if receptionists continue to triage patients.

Following an email sent to practice re requesting an appointment, I was very pleased to be contacted promptly the next morning by one of the Practice Nurse Specialists. Very thorough and supportive phone consultation which resulted in her booking me in for GP, Bloods and Chest X-Ray next working days.

Suggested improvements
My appointment Booking with GP seemed to have dropped off radar at Reception side and had to be followed up 35mins later. The lady who took bloods was professional and had noted, waiting for me after seen by GP. It is not possible to contribute to the ‘Doctors review’ as the doctor’s listed no longer work at Rhoslan. All staffing is not currently accessible on website.

I am beginning to wonder if Rhoslan surgery actual have any GP's working there because when I requested a call back it was a GP from Rysseldene surgery that phoned. Certainly the GP's listed on this web page no longer work at the surgery and haven't done for quite a while now. Anyway... i was prescribed medication that i should not take due to having a heat condition and being on anticoagulant medication plus other health issues that were listed in the medication leaflets 'warnings and precautions' list. I phoned to Query the prescription and it took 3 days for them to get back to me and basically told me that there were risks in me taking this particular medication but it was that or nothing as the GP (who's name i was not given) was not willing to prescribe an alternative. I have, in the past, had a similar medication to the one prescribed and had a very bad allergic reaction to it and i did inform the GP about this. I have also had 'alternative medication' in the past that i was find on ... but they are refusing to re-prescribe this other medication and would prefer me to take a big risk by taking this other one when i know from the enclosed leaflet that i should not take it. I will be taking this matter further because i am disgusted by the way i have been treated. I have even phoned a chemist and they agreed that i should not take the prescribed medication due to the risks. If i had not checked the enclosed patient information leaflet and had just taken the tablets it could have ended very badly indeed.

Suggested improvements
Read my medical history properly and what medication i was already on and which medication i had previously had a bad reaction to and which alternative medication i had been prescribed in the past. Educate your nurses not to advise patients to cut film coated tablets in half that do not have a line down them as it is not safe to do so.

Told by the receptionist I can’t have a flu jab because I’m 59 they only do them for over 65s I thought this had changed it’s for over 50s now the receptionists in this surgery don’t seem to know what they’re on about or they just don’t want to bother and are wanting you to just go away and leave them alone

Suggested improvements
Be more informed if the receptionists are running the surgery at least they should know what they are saying is correct

I graded them high for cleanliness because hardly anyone from the public is allowed inside. All are outside in all weather and nowhere to sit. This is bad if you have mobility issues. I dont know if it's just my perception but I dont feel the Drs really listen and you get the impression they dont want to be there. I know lots of changes are happening and you can tell but news on these changes are not communicated with the patients. For example who are the Drs there now?

Suggested improvements
I just spent 21 years working with HIV patients in Africa. I have come into contact with Enola, TB. Cholera and who knows what. Yet the surgery operates as though its terrified of the people it serves. Let people inside. More face to face appointments. Care needs to be holistic in its approach and the words "do no harm" needs to be practiced because a gulf between patient and medical professional is evident and will do harm.
