If i could rate 0* i would. I have been at this surgery since birth (26 years!) and it has only gone downhill. There are a handful of doctors who are amazing and also cannot fault the nurses - if you manage to get past the rude, unhelpful receptionists. Thankfully, I received a letter from them stating I am no longer in their catchment as I have recently moved. It has pushed me into changing surgeries as I was reluctant to before purely as I have been there so long. My son suffers with severe reflux and has been on Gaviscon, Ranitidne and Omeprazole. A lot of repeat prescriptions needed.. they are never ready within their "72 hour" policy. Every time I have to chase them because they havent done it and the pharmacy next door has had to save my bacon. Liquid Omeprazole is like gold dust, pharmacies have to order it in, no where stocks it. So when the doctors can't even get a prescription signed, it leaves my son without his medicine. The medicine which he needs to stop acid rising up his throat which causes him to scream in pain, refuse his milk and any kind of food. Sadly, the receptionists couldn't care less and on several occasions have shrugged off my desperation for this medication. When me and my partner have insisted it needs to be done they have been rude and abrupt with us. I also told them I suffer with anxiety and I am unable to leave the house alone, to which one of the receptionists replied "can't you just get on a bus?"... seriously. Today, thankfully the last time I will have to endure them, they refused to give me my repeat for my sons medicine because "he isn't due it until July".. now, I'm not sure how difficult it is to read through a patients notes to find out that his dose has been TRIPLED.. therefore, more medication will be required more often. They then decide to say that we are no longer registered there so it is down to our new doctors. I was registered there when I put in my repeat prescription, so I'm not sure how I could possibly have got it from my new doctors without my son being without his medicine for a week. Also, getting an appointment is nigh on impossible. "Ring up at 8 on the day".. you ring up at 8 on the day, get stuck on hold for over half an hour and by the time you've got through there's no appointments left. So you have to ring up the next day at 8am.. you get the picture. As I say, a few Drs are amazing when you manage to see one. It's a shame about the staff with no communication skills they stick at the front. Being a doctors you'd think they'd employ people with compassion and people skills.
