Having read some of the negative reviews I felt I must write a review myself. I joined the practice five years ago and I can not speak highly enough of the care of the doctors, my doctor in particular. Extremely kind, very caring and very supportive. I have never had the impression I am wasting their time and they have always had time to make me feel they cared. The reception staff have always been very helpful and my doctor has always called me and arranged a face to face in the surgery if it was necessary. I do not have one negative comment to make regarding this practice.

Our Family has been with Praze Surgery for nearly 40 years. Seen the brilliant times, - when Dr Hugh Fairly was there, and the surgery was an asset to the village and a credit to the doctors that worked there. To the present day when the current management took over. What a descent into chaos! This place is being bled white and they are doing it at the expense of the old, the chronically ill and the vulnerable and of course the taxpayer. Shame on them. The process is getting worse. Impossible to make an appointment by telephone. Virtually pointless to make one online. Earlier this year it took me SEVENTEEN days to get a five minute phone call! Despite my condition from which I was in increasing chronic pain 24 hours a day. The appointment I had today only took FOURTEEN days to arrange and I met for the first and last time Dr Adam Ellery. What a piece of work! He began by basically telling me I was making my pain up! I walked out after a few minutes. I was very very angry. It is tragic to see how this once friendly family doctors has been utterly and completely ground into the dirt! The Covid crisis has been exploited for every penny and used as an excuse to prolong covid measures well beyond the government guidelines. IF you can get in there, the place is stuck in a dark dystopian time-warp from the first weeks of lock down. Now at a time when the world should be opening up again when the vast majority of patients have been double jabbed, everything about Praze surgery is designed for one thing and that is to make patients feel afraid and presumably to encourage them to stay away. Warm and friendly it is not. The receptionists I noticed today are now completely separated from the patients, physically hidden behind closed blinds. When I saw him, Ellery had the gall to claim he was working 70 plus hours a week. Yet the surgery is closed most of the week the car park is empty, the doors are locked and there are no lights on and it takes 17 days to get a five minute phone call from this shower. Perhaps he has another job somewhere? What is going on at Praze surgery is DANGEROUS. Patients will die. It must be stopped

Suggested improvements
Be open eight until eight seven days a week. Stop scaring people and above all get rid of Adam Ellery.

I had a problem with my medication and they did not want to know. Very rude and unhelpful receptionist, pharmacy staff and GP. Got to speak to a GP and again very curt and dismissive and said the medication I wanted was not available. I phoned a local chemist and they said there was no problem getting the meds I needed so changed to them to supply my meds after a row with the surgery about getting my prescriptions supplied by a local chemist instead of them. Seems this surgery is money orientated and not patient. It has really deteriorated since Dr. Farley left, I would go as far to say that this surgery has become dangerous. I will be moving to another surgery as soon as Covid is over. Avoid this practice if you need care. It needs sorting out before a fatal mistake is made.

Just about everything. Teach your staff to treat patients like human beings for a start and learn to listen!!!

No appointments, so far I have been waiting three days for a phone appointment and it's now 5pm on day three. Never any follow ups for thyroid tests, communications appear to be non excistant. In the days of Dr. Fairlie the surgery ran like clockwork and you could not have a better service. I know the covid problem but nobody appears to care about the patients apart from Dr. Quick. My medication is always in question which I seriously believe is for financial profit reasons. The last time i saw Dr. Ellery we fell out as he was so rude and couldn't get me out of the quick enough. This practice needs to be investigated and soon before theirs a disaster.

Suggested improvements
Better communications, maybe run as a doctors practice and not a business.

I am just an ordinary bod wanting medications that I need to keep me alive with a reasonable expectation of tolerable continuance I do not want to make trouble or cause harm. So why is this disgeaceful service out to do so to me they are positively the worst GP practice I have known in a long life and I have been to practices in extremely run down city areas - we live in a snall inoffensive and kindly village that used I am told to have an extraordinary GP practice helpful caring and efficient. Endless complaints have been made about Praze Surgery and absolutely nothing is done - indeed I was told they passed their last examination with flying colors I can only imagine they fabricated and dissembled their way through it. I am not complaining for the sake of it - the entire village seems to be of the same opinion - we'd be better off witout a GP Practice than be saddled with this disgraceful shambolic organisation that is no service at all full of rude Doctors hoplessly ill trained nurses and rude receptionists. I note that they say of themselves that they provide an excellent service wirh high standards More dissembling nonsense... 6čdř

Try going away and staying away.
