I attended yesterday for a replacement catheter, the nurse Heather was extremely helpful and ordered me a care pack which was delivered to my home today, she gave me all the information that neither my GP or King Georges Hospital did, I felt so much more at ease after seeing her, well done Heather
This refers to the GP surgery, the staff and experience of the GPs at Porters Avenue
Truly shocking and indifferent attitude by unprofessional and rude staff. Whilst clearly ill equipped to do their job, this does not excuse their manner, which will have filtered through from the head of the practice. This has not changed on the few visits recently however to provide a balance when the centre opened, it seemed a fresh and positive offering, albeit in its infancy.
However the prompt appointment was called early, but afterwards clearly down to the rapid indifferent 'processing' by the older doctor, who gave the distinct feeling that he was in a rush, and wanted to clear the queue as this was an afternoon appointment.
Regretfully at no point did he look away from his screen, during the appointment, and his subsequent disinterest and mis- diagnosis did not help. He was clearly not happy that I requested an explanation, and understanding of this diagnosis and was most defensive when I pointed out he was refering to the wrong side for a xray request.
When a comment was made to the worrying negative published reviews, his reply was that 'what do you expect' and 'it is all the same around here', which I found astonishing, the clear suggestion to all is that it is time for him to be relieved of his public facing duties, and a sad reflection on his perspective as a GP.
Concordia Health would now apparently run/oversee/manage this centre, but seem to be delinquent in some strong aspects of their duties.
NHS online reviews concur, and reviews score PAHC with scores of 1.5 out of 5, 35 reviews - statistically this speaks volumes.
No-one expects miracles, however as a patient, one is entitled to level a respect and professionalism, which PAHC has now failed to offer, from both Medic and reception staff on a consistent basis.
