I think the staff at Poplar Grove are incredible. All the nurses and Drs go above and beyond and really take into account the patient voice. It is tricky to get an appointment as they are all emergency and via telephone but this is a reflection of the underfunding by the government and should not reflect the efforts by staff whatsoever.

Suggested improvements
Bringing back the online triage as this was incredibly helpful and useful.

Phone lines open at 8am. If you need an appointment you need to start calling at 8am The surgery now has a call back service which is great (unless you have connection issues and cannot hear you when you are talking so you are asked to call again) If you call much later than 8.30am, then you are likely to be told all appointments have gone and to call back the next day Today I called at 8am, got through on 2nd attempt, requested call back and the lovely receptionist called back about 40 mins later. I had 2 issues so she arranged call backs for both. 1st issue involved taking a sample to the surgery and waiting call back. I missed a call but got a text saying I could pick up meds from local pharmacy. This was ok it meant 2 trips out - one to drop off sample and one to pick up meds. Luckily I’m mobile and was able to make both trips but I worry about patients who are not mobile I had a t/c from a GP about other issue. The GP gave great advise and I felt I was taken seriously So overall I’ve been very happy with today’s experience Thank you to everyone

Suggested improvements
It would be better to have everything done at same time so Appt, sample given, sample tested, results given immediately and meds prescribed so can pick up immediately

Rude telephonist who often puts the phone down on you and refuses to book an appointment for you. You have to go on their website and book online even if you are too ill to use the convoluted online system. The new dr's must be stressed because they are rude and talk over you or shout at you on the phone when they finally do call you back a week later. Once the practice got the accounts for the old people's homes in Aylesbury the practice went downhill very fast, they clearly can't cope and have taken on too many patients. Steer clear of Dr Scot she is especially rude.

Suggested improvements
Listen to the patient when they are telling you why they rang instead of shouting and being rude. Give telephonist training so she can cope and not put the phone down on patients.
