I find it incredible that a patient rings for an appointment is offered 2 options: 1. Consistently for the past 2 years, if I wanted to see a doctor by appointement, I am ALWAYS offered an available slot in 4 weeks time as a minimum. Once I was told i couldnt see the doctor for 8 weeks. Now, I do wonder who makes appointements that are in 4+ weeks time and what for as surely they cannot be for medical reasons. My idea of seeing a doctor is becasue you need them for something that requires attention ( if not immediate or as an emergency, at least something that must bee looked at before 1. sysmptoms dissapear 2. it gets aggravated that you would end up needing to call on emergency) 2. Morning surgery is my second option, which if it's something that I do not consider very serious, I'd rather not occupy space and allow people who really need it. Which leaves me wonder what kind of a patient am I, when I have a serious concern about my health that is not an emergency but seriosu enough that cannot wait 4 weeks until the next appointment. I am afraid to say ( for this reason, and for the fact that when one does manage to see the doctor you are so rushed that you end up feeling like nothing was achieved and it was utterly pointless to see them in the first place)this GP practice has offered me so far a terrible service.
