The reception staff was rude, actually laughing at me because “it’s not like he did it on purpose” - doctor not turning up for my appointment which I’d moved heaven and earth to be able to attend!

There is an old cliche about Doctors' receptionists- but clearly they were not talking about our surgery. In the 10+ years I have been going there, not once have they been anything other than wonderful. They are kind, thoughtful and thoroughly obliging. I have lost count of the amount of times they have created appointments out of nowhere at little notice. We have recently been to see Dr Deepak and have had such help with my daughter who has been ill since birth, that I actually cried in the appointment. It was such a relief that someone seemed to just understand her situation with great knowledge and empathy. Likewise, we have to have very frequent appointments with the nurses- and again, always so helpful and kind. They return phonecalls quickly and utterly obliging with help and advice If Carlsberg made GP surgeries.....

Today I had a smear taken by the Practice Nurse. The appointment was easy to make and even when I had to change the time the reception staff were very helpful. The Practice Nurse was both professional and friendly. She completely put me at ease whilst informing me of what was happening as we went along. She gave me all the relevant information regarding the smear and the results. She asked me if I wanted a chaperone which I declined. The procedure was performed competently and easily. I did not inform her that I was also a Practice Nurse prior to the procedure. If having a smear can be called fantastic then today I had a fantastic smear! I would like to commend Kerry on her absolute professionalism, from one nurse to another!
