There have been changes in the system here and they are certainly not for the better. The answer phone message is lengthy, unclear and grammatically incorrect in places. It ultimately states, 'press 1 for an appointment.' After a lengthy wait you are then told that appointments are no longer made over the phone and a surly receptionist makes it very clear that she really simply wishes to get you off the line. This may be one of the receptionists who stood around talking about hair styles when I visited recently for a blood test. I would venture to say that things are so bad now there should be a change in management. It simply is not possible to liaise with this surgery over health matters and staff including doctors and receptionists are actively preventing people managing health concerns.

Suggested improvements
Maybe a new manager is needed. I have already commented on the unclear recorded messages that are extremely unhelpful. The reception staff make it clear that they do not want to assist in any way. They are rude and very offensive.

I was under the illusion that doctors wanted to care for people and their medical needs. I have thanked this surgery in the past but not at the moment. A doctor told me she would make a referral 6 months ago. It was never made and I when I chased it up I was told that it wasn't made because of an administrative error. I understand they don't give a damn about my health and would perhaps rather I didn't exist. They have not allowed any patients into the surgery for over a year so, of course, they are very busy. By way of consolation for not making the referral the doctor asked if I would like an appointment for a blood test. She said encouragingly that the blood test could be at the surgery in 11 days time! What an absolute disgrace. These are the kind of incidents that make life not worth living.

Suggested improvements
You could have made the referral when you said you would and not 6 months later. How do you treat truly vulnerable people? I dread to think. It is not even clear that you have made the referral to the hospital with the shortest waiting list. What do you care? Not a lot. If you find me dead you will know that you have pushed me. I trusted you and you let me down and don't even care.

So if a doctor tells you they have made a referral then you may find 6 months later that they haven't bothered. That seems very poor to me. This is what happened to me with this surgery. An utter disgrace.

Suggested improvements
If you say you are making a referral then make one. Don't lie to the patient and allow them to think you have made it only to find out 6 months later that you haven't bothered.

A very well run surgery in West London. It is easy to get through by phone, same day appointments are available if you ring/get to the surgery on time. GPs listen and are supportive and helpful. Highly recommended.
