I have seen the same doctor a few times as I thought she would follow through with the initial diagnosis but was very disappointed by the lack of interest and sensitivity at my last visit. This has kept me from going back but now my condition has got worse. I would like to see another GP but 25m over the phone and cannot even get through is horrendous service. I thought that the filtering system whereby a doctor has to assess the reason for a same day appointment was to improve patient care but this obviously needs reviewing if a patient cannot even get through in the first place.

8 working days for a doctor to sign my prescription !!! due to a back log and lots of people putting in panic prescriptions i was told that i should allow 5 working days due to this ???? you do the maths. you ask to be phoned back on a prefered number and then they ring on a totaly different number. reception staff seem to have no empathy that a patient has been without diabetes medication for nearly 3 days. when point out to me that this surgery has to look after 18000 people in the area i am to accept that as THEY wanted a bigger surgery and can not cope with the amount of patients on there books i should just wait. something seems very wrong at this surgery now i would not recommend anyone join as the level of service and care seems to have declined since it has been made larger.

I can't understand the negative reviews regarding this surgery. I have found the reception staff extremely pleasant and never experienced any such rudeness from them at all!! I think patients can be pretty rude (I did work at Singleton Surgery so know from experience). I had positive experiences each time I went to this surgery and would never consider changing. I am particularly grateful to Ben Clarke one of the nurses there who took a lot of trouble to refer me to London for an ongoing problem on his break, what a great example to the surgery and I love the new look so much better and bigger. Great work New Hayesbank keep it up1!

I am familiar with a couple of doctors there, and Dr. Rashid, who I am under, is outstanding. That is, obviously, enough, as that is the whole purpose of being there. However, it would be so nice if there was some politeness given by the secretaries. They are unbelievably rude. I have always believed that people would no doubt be rude if on the receiving end of rudeness, but I have never been anything but polite and about three I have had dealings with have been, frankly, greatly lacking in professionalism. Not only complaining openly to each other in front of a waiting room, but being incredibly unpleasant on the phone, and will not make any effort to help if the problem requires just that little bit extra time. They make assumptions about your situation; assuming you have support and help at home and do not allow for any mistakes whatsoever. But they amount of errors they have made and we are simply expected to accept them. That might mean mixed up messages, lack of medication, both of which have happened to me a number of times. Not once have I had an apology. I really respect the doctors at the surgery. The nurses are always lovely. There was one wonderful secretary who seems to have left, and now those left really let the surgery down.

I have been with this surgery on and off for about twelve years, but my most common experiences are a minimum of 2 weeks or not at all, for an appointment, as this can only be because there are not enough doctors available per patient. (patients per available doctor hour is probably quite low in comparison to most surgeries) Also, in my last 6 appointments I have seen 5 different doctors, mainly due to the same doctor being unavailable on the only day that appointments were available (2weeks away) so continuation of care is almost impossible. Queueing next to a post for a receptionist is like being at school, could do with re-addressing The requirement to tell a receptionist, details of your illness, I feel, is wrong and should not be asked of you, in any circumstances. Known about delays should be broadcast, I turned up ten minutes early for my last appointment and was seen thirty minutes after my due time, this should be known and passed on either at booking in or on your screen system.
