This surgery has been built and extended over the last few years. It's always clean. The reception staff couldn't be any more helpful getting your appointments. They have a self touch screen for booking yourself in but always a receptionist there for any problems or when it's not understood how to use and For picking up repeat prescriptions, making further appointments etc. this surgery is the only one I kno that offers early morning and late evening appointments and also Saturday morning. They are all extremely pleasant and helpful. We have quite an assortment of different languages spoken around these parts now and some of the staff speak these languages so can assist. The nurses are helpful, caring and keep an eye on elderly patients pointing out any problems to the GPs so they can be followed up. Again the nurses always make you feel relaxed and that you are the most special person being seen. If they feel you need follow up with a GP they are happy to go and speak to a GP and sort out an appointment or even get the doctor to come along and see you between his patients. Even if they feel you need a prescription for anything they are quite happy to set this in motion for a signature. Every day there is a duty doctor and a treiage nurse. You can even ring and have a telephone consultation if you have already been seen by the GP within the past few days and just need some questions answered. Every eventuality has been catered for. They have a patient group that get together with some of the staff, doctors and practice manager for suggestions of how to improve the service offered. They are a very proactive surgery and would sooner sort anything out before it becomes a problem. Some of my friends who go to other surgeries and hear what this one offers their patients are very jealous. There are some practices not just around here but up and down the country who could take a leaf out of Nene Valley Medical Practice book and would shine. It must cost quite a lot of money to keep this high standard of care and ongoing care I just hope without getting into the politics of these things, that this practice doesn't loose funds because it's a well oiled machine and works for its patients wellbeing when others squander their funds and expect to be bailed out to the good ones deprement.
