So frustrating to not be able to cancel an appointment due to self isolation. This is the 5th day I have been trying and cannot get through, my appointment was yesterday. Very upsetting, as I never miss appointments and it took weeks to book it. (Because the phone line are busy) Doesn’t matter what time of day it is, I just cannot get through.

Please hire more reception/phone line admins.

Meridian Surgery is certainly having its' problems at the moment! However, today I experienced a beautiful ray of sunshine in the form of one of nicest and kindest doctors I have ever met. Her name is Dr James and she is working at the surgery for three days a week. She really is a breath of fresh air and if Meridian can employ more keen committed doctors like her then they will rise like a Phoenix from the ashes!

Well, after making 20 phone calls over 2 hours and the phone just ringing out I concur that their promised new digital phone system certainly needs to be up and running sooner rather than later! It certainly didn't help that Rowe Avenue patients could phone in to book their appointments at 8am and all day whilst Meridian patients were told to phone at 8.30am or 2.30pm when all of the appointments have gone leaving them unable to get appointments for days! It would be helpful if the website was updated with who is working in the surgery and even better if the receptionists knew who the doctors they are working with are - it is not helpful to patients to be told "don't know who they are" and that they don't even know the doctor's genders.

It has always been difficult to get an appointment at the surgery or get through on the telephone, however since merging with another local surgery it is an impossibility at least 50 mins to even get through and when you do no appointments left or you just constantly get the engaged tone , most of the receptionists are rude and unhelpful with the exception of maybe one or two, having worked as a gp receptionist for over 5 years it is a tough job however that does not give you the right to be rude and insulting to patients you are their first port of call and they should be made to feel comfortable if your not able to be kind you should not be a receptionist.

Suggested improvements
Employ more staff to answer the phones, retrain the current receptionist to be helpful and kind , offer more pre bookable appointments, and employ more doctors

I contacted the surgery today before 10am. Receptionist was pleasant and said the Doctor would call me today. I am under extreme stress and the moment, which has given my rheumatoid a flare up. I asked to have a steroid injection as at night the pain is acute, it is on my records to have this but i rarely do. It is now 9pm at night and i still have not heard from a Dr, which means i now have yo spend the next 3 nights in acute pain. NOT HAPPY

Just tried getting appointment the lady at reception was so full of life it was a joke all she kept saying is yer very unhelpful and sound if she needs training in phone manners.never got a appointment plus she but the phone down on me .

A better system how many more times are you going to leave people suffering.
