It is very, very difficult to get an appointment, it seems like the staff are more focused on making sure that patients get fed up and just go away (to die??). Phoned 08:30 after 10 minutes got to speak to receptionist who said phone back in the afternoon. Phoned at 14:30, after a long time on hold was cut off by receptionist. Tried again at 3pm constantly engaged. Tried again later to be told can't even book a telephone consult (I didn't even need to see anyone) until the GP is back at the surgery because the receptionist staff don't know his/her availability. More phone lines and receptionist's required to effectively run a surgery of this size - at the moment it is not fulfilling patients needs. Very negative experience.

We appreciate how difficult it is to book appointments, and unfortunately, the demand for appointments will always be greater than the available appointments we have. We are constantly seeking ways to improve access for our patients. We always encourage our patients to register for our online services, and book non-urgent appointments this way, as this means you are able to do this without spending time on the telephone. please do speak to our Patient Services Manager if you wish to discuss anything. I went in at 4:15 requesting a pre bookable appointment for an long term issue I thought needed attention. Not only was I offered an appointment within a reasonable time I was then offered an appointment an hour later Was seen by dr Dare whose beside manner is amazing, not only did she deal with my issue so also happily gave me a referral to a specialist weight service with no judgement. I have always been very happy with Meridain surgery and most of the staff who all work hard and provide a professional service in what are challenging times for the NHS as a whole

Amazing response on the telephone. Appointment made for 45 mins later. Saw a paramedic as soon as we got there. Just what was expected of the practice

The out of hours appointment system is really great - much easier to get an appointment once you get through. I work full time and have to take holiday if I need to attend the doctors during work hours, however, this is a great service, takes the stress away - thank you for introducing it to the surgery.

I am shocked at how difficult it is to get any type of help or treatment at this surgery. I went last week to ask if I could get an appointment with an asthma nurse, the receptionists was very rude, she just said, 'No, we are full for the next month'. At the time I was struggling to breath, and one would think that she may have been more helpfull, until you read the other reviews here! ha ha. They have a rep for being terrible and I can see why. I tried to call today to see if there were any appointments but the phone has a recorded messages saying basically to hang up, they are too busy to take calls. This practice has also muddled me up with another patient in the past, phoning me to give me test results when I had not been to the doctors for many years.
