I can't believe the changes which have taken place at Merchford House over the past few years and particularly since the start of Covid 19. I became a patient here almost 20 years ago and Dr Walsh was my Dr, he retired, a lady Dr took over, then a locum, then Dr Mani and about 2 years ago Dr Teo - since March 2019 there has been little contact with the surgery and last week someone at the Pharmacy told me Dr Teo had left some months ago!!! Before Covid I had tests for high blood pressure and liver tests as have a fatty liver, every 3 months, but no longer. I did get called in once for my annual B.P.tests but the nurse could only take my blood but not my pressure she said she wasn't able. I did have a bowel infection I think last Spring and phoned the surgery and there was a really good Nurse Practitioner who sorted me out brilliantly, Dr Ulla has helped me too but sadly I think things have gone down so far that I am doubtful the surgery still really exists any more. My husband too is a patient here and was diagnosed Diabetic about 3 yrs ago., he has been quite well and has Metformin tablets but has no regular checkups or blood tests of any sort; he also used to have regular B.P. Tests, everything has really fizzled out sadly. He also a few weeks ago had an eye problem and needed to go to the Eye Clinic at Hinchinbrooke but the surgery didn't seem to get the info. from them for a repeat prescription so we needed to take a copy of my husbands hospital letter to sort it. I would imagine it is very difficult running the surgery now with different staff who I imagine are changing frequently and with Covid changing how they run things but in the news we are always being encouraged to contact our Doctor over any worries but it doesn't work does it. We have thought maybe we should try to change our G.P. but I would imagine it would be pretty much impossible at the present time. Nobody's fault and feel it must be difficult for Dr Ulla but need to have a Surgery we can go to if required. There is no website available and hard to get through on the telephone. No problem getting our flu jabs, very well organised.

Suggested improvements
It's all in the letter above but think the Surgery should try to keep the patients informed about what's going on. I am writing this letter on behalf of both myself and my husband. You ask about permanent health probs. We both have all the usual elderly complaints and I have had Osteo Arthritis and Diverticulitis.
