4th April 2017

I contacted Maryport health services via telephone on the 28 March 2017 requesting an appointment with my GP I was told there was no avaliable appointments until the 24 April 2017. I informed the receptionist that my medical condition was pretty urgent. The receptionist the began to ask my what was so urgent about my medical condition these matters are personal and private but hoping I could get an appointment I explained to the receptionist what my concerns were she the said she had an appointment available if I could get to Maryport health services in 15 minutes. I couldn't make it in that short amount of time unfortunately, I informed her I could not make this appointment she then said I need to phone every morning in the hope someone else has cancelled there appointment or just wait until the 24 April. I find this absolutely discussing and utterly unprofessional. To rub salt in the wound I the went to the chemist with in the Maryport health service on the 3 April to try and order my repeat prescription. But due to the rise in prescription prices and some financial hardship I could not afford to buy all the items on my prescription. I tried to explain this to the head of the chemist but she was so uncaring and spoke so everyone could hear I got embarrassed and seriously annoyed by her lack of understanding of the English language I tried several times over to explain to her that I could only afford to purchase 4 of the 6 items on my prescription but she kept asking me to go to the GP'S receptionist I tried again to explain I just wanted the items I have ticked on my repeat prescription and I will collect the others when I could afford to do so. Bearing in mind there is now a person standing next to me and several sitting around me I've never been so embarrassed in my life so after 5 minutes of trying to explain to her that I wanted the 4 items I have tick she said I was being rude I then informed her I could be a lot ruder she the asked me to leave. Realising I was getting no were I then approached the GPS main receptionist again same result. There is a lot more to this and Maryport health services current state of poor services and serious lack of patient care. I will be making a formal complaint to the NHS giving full details of all poor practice's
