This surgery used to be wonderful, but since covid it’s quite desperate, they have a online form you have to fill it to get an appointment, it asks questions such as ‘ have you ever gambled ?’ When you finally reach the end it takes another two days to hear back from the surgery and about a week and a half for an appointment. I recently had a scan and now I have to wait a week for the results even though the receptionist told me they were there . A week of worrying . I’m on the list to have a flu jab , so I went to book it and the receptionist told that there wasn’t any left for my age group and go to the pharmacy despite there being posters up about if you’re vulnerable to get your jab at the surgery . It worries me how this surgery has gone , why can it not go back to way it was before ?

Suggested improvements
Yes, understand that your patients are concerned that we cannot get an appointment any more , it’s a huge concern when you have an issue.

Response from Loxwood Medical Practice

Thank you for your feedback. The form that is referred to is the econsult form which was introduced by NHS Digital and used by the majority of GP surgeries, whilst it doesn't suit everyone it is proven to be successful for the majority of patients. All econsults and telephone triage consultations are reviewed by a clinician and the admin team advised to signpost the patient to the most appropriate person within a clinically safe timescale which is assessed by the clinical team. Results and scans that are received by the practice are also reviewed by the clinical team, a patient would always be contacted as a priority if the result or scan needed immediate clinical attention. We are sorry that the delay has cause you concern. Influenza vaccine clinics are being reviewed and held at the surgery during the influenza season which is September to March, the correct advice was given by the admin team, if the surgery have exhausted the supply of the vaccine we have to wait for further deliveries therefore being directed to a pharmacy is the correct advice. Unfortunately, we are still in a pandemic situation which it seems will continue for some time yet, therefore returning to how we worked previously is not possible for the foreseeable future.
