I submitted an e-consult and did not receive a reply at all. My referral from the physio service to Bognor MSK has not been done. Trying to telephone Loxwood surgery to discuss this and ask someone to follow up and I have been cut off twice after waiting 4 minutes while the phone continually rings. Not good enough.

If you do econsult you may be asked for a photo rarely does it follow that you will get a GP appointment not even a telephone consultation. Instead reception might ring you and make an appointment with the physio. It is far too long winded now and illnesses or serious conditions may be missed. I worked at this surgery for 24 years as a medical secretary and care coordinator and believe me it was far more efficient in dealing with patients than it is now. Sadly since covid a lot of surgeries are using this econsult and people I have spoken to are fed up with this cop out. Fortunately some surgeries have gone back to now they used to be run, funnily enough they are mostly in the London area.

My husband was at the hospital and the hospital wrote to yourselves requesting that he has regular blood tests as one of the drugs he is on can affect his kidneys causing kidney failure. The first blood test happened he was not told of the result until a month later then another blood test was organised for a month's time. He rang for the result which was ok but no mention of another blood test. Months have gone by and my husband (who I have permission to talk about) stopped the drug as the surgery were not following the instructions from the consultant at Sr Richard's. I think due to so many changes of GPs patients are not being followed up as they should as these GPs do not have the time to review their past records. May be you should employ somebody to check these medical records to see who is not being followed up as they should be.

Thank you for your feedback. The eConsult form is an NHS backed platform that is used by a large number of GP surgeries. Whilst we appreciate it doesn't suit everyone, it is proven to be successful for the majority of patients, and helps us allocate appointments and services appropriately to meet the high demand. All eConsults and telephone triage consultations are reviewed by a duty clinician and the admin team advised to allocate an appointment or signpost the patient to the most appropriate service, within a clinically safe timescale. Any results are also reviewed by the clinical team and follow up arrangements made as clinically appropriate. A patient will always be contacted as a priority if the result requires urgent clinical attention. For those patients with long term or chronic health conditions, we also have a team of Care Coordinators who follow up and monitor this patient group. We are continually reviewing out triage process and reflecting on any feedback to make sure we continue to work as efficiently as possible during times of high demand, whilst always making sure patient safety is a priority. As there are no specific patient details mentioned it is difficult for us to comment regarding your husband’s medication and monitoring. We would be grateful if you could ask your husband to contact the surgery so we can ensure that his health is being monitored appropriately.

I have always found the Loxwood Team members helpful, kind and working within their limits. The prescription situation is sometimes frustrating and confusing but that seems to be normal for the moment!

Suggested improvements
Offer more clinics for wellwoman that could be booked into. A Mental Health team?

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback, if you have a particular problem with prescriptions please speak directly to a member of the dispensary team who will be happy to help address any concerns. We are able to provide you with 'Women's Gynae Health Speak & Treat' telephone appointments with a Specialist Consultant Gynaecologist most weeks. These appointments can be requested by submitting an eConsult request via our website. We also have members of the MIND mental health team onsite if you would like an appointment with them also please submit an eConsult request.

I was seen by a doctor and started treatment within 1 hour of calling. Everyone was friendly, responsive and put me at ease. This is an excellent medical practice, well run and led by a great team. Standards are extremely high and attention to detail is impressive.
