The norm for turning round a web-based prescription is - in my case - now over a week...this is simply unacceptable. As is their complaints procedure (download form, fill it in, print it out and deliver it to the surgery) doubtless borrowed from the Pony Express. An unpleasant combination of inefficiency and indifference...In fairness they seem on the ball regarding text messages on Covid booster and anti-Flu that pales compared to monthly meds requirements that are life and death. I sense that there surgery is becoming, increasingly, a revolving door for locums...
Nothing but failure in duty of care and neglect from this GP surgery. Recently my Very chronically ill brother has been diagnosed with throat cancer. He cannot swallow properly which is a problem with some of his medication. Palative Care asked for my brothers mental health medication to be given in liquid form. The GP actually phoned my brother and told him he could not have this medication in liquid form as it’s too expensive so what the GP is saying is that you cannot have your medication for your mental health? How can a doctor speak to a patient who is terminally ill in a way like that? It’s absolutely disgraceful. My brother needs this medication. My brother has constantly been neglected by this surgery , I know they can give it to him and I’m sure if it was one of their own family they’ll be no question about it. I have had so many issues with this lot the way they have treated him if I did not have daily input with him he would not be here now because of their neglect . I was so horrified and kicked up. Such a fuss about this. The lovely Tracy helped me and spoke with the duty Doctor Who gave him a very small bottle, but no intention of giving any more because apparently there has to be a meeting to discuss whether they can allow him to have the medication in liquid I asked myself what is there to discuss this man so chronically ill and has such a little quality of life who desperately needs this medication. Why is there any question that he would not be able to have it because of the cost? This should not be an issue at all , but this lot anything is an issue. I am so sick and tired of arguing and putting up with the attitude at this doctor surgery and I mean the doctors attitude and what value do you put on somebody’s life? I wonder my brother is housebound and I had a phone call from him to say he believes he has another chest infection so I called Longhrove surgery And took the option for a callback 45 minutes later no callback so I emailed them and got an email back saying that you cannot use this email and if you use it anymore we will not deal with your request which does not surprise me because they don’t care so I called again and after 25 minutes waiting I’ve got a call back from the lovely Tracy who seems to be the one of the only ones in that surgery that cares she is absolutely amazing and I don’t know what I’ve done without her it’s a shame the doctors couldn’t be behaving the same way and then Tracy spoke with the doctor and that is how we got the small bottle. The doctor phoned me and said I’m going to send some antibiotics to the chemist and I will send Rapid Response out to check him over. I spoke with my brother later on in the evening and he told me Rapid Response had been they took his observations and said that , he was okay but didn’t bother to check his chest so what was the point of that? Doesn’t surprise me that the hospitals A&E are so overwhelmed when you have doctor surgeries like this one that whenever you call them they tell you phone 999 go to A&E because they can’t be bothered to deal with you , this is just one thing of many which I have had to experience with these doctors. This doctor surgery is not fit for purpose and the best thing that could happen to it would be for it to be closed down and it would save some lives because they certainly wouldn’t have saved my brothers , so the outcome is at the moment are they going to kill him with his mental health or their neglect? Watch this space?
I called at 8.00 on Monday morning and was offered an emergency appointment for 9.00.I was back home by 10.00 .Superb service and treatment. Can't speak highly enough of my whole experience that day .Amazingly efficient.
I called the surgery in a desperate state yesterday as my daughter was having a psychotic episode and threatened to commit suicide.
I was put through to the practice manager who told me that a GP would contact me later. No call every came.
How bad do things need to be for you to make a follow up call? Where is the compassion?
Terrible surgery, receptionists rude, unprofessional and unhelpful. Majority of doctors don’t even listen to you. Receptionists insist on knowing why you want to see the dr, even if it is personal, when standing in the middle of a waiting room. Moving surgeries.
