Outdated practice that needs a makeover, with the ridiculously long wait to see a GP for goodness sake allow patients to use the "LIVI" app.

I suffered the misfortune of registering with this excuse for a medical practice when I moved to the area recently and this is the only practice whose boundaries cover where I live as unfortunately, I live just 200 yards from the nearby Moatfield Surgery area of coverage. This practice sets itself low standards which even it struggles to maintain, on trying to book a Dr’s appointment the quickest I could see a GP was over five weeks away which is totally unacceptable. From the moment I first walked into the building to hand in my proof of address when I registered, I was appalled with what I saw. A building that looks derelict and run down with old faded notices mounted on a 1980’s style pinboard only to be met by a grumpy individual who seemed to think they were doing me a favour by allowing me to register. I could probably cope with waiting five weeks to see a GP if I could use the LIVI app for an online consultation but when I asked about LIVI I was glared at if I had asked for a face to face meeting with the queen. The website for this practice is quite frankly an embarrassment with numerous broken links that don’t work. No doubt that the unacceptably long wait for an appointment contributes something towards the reason that a number of the Health Metrics fall below the national expectation, for instance: Cervical Cancer Screening 70.7% screened, of 2560 eligible women. Diabetes Managing Blood Glucose Level 75.77% within a recommended level Flu vaccinations - Aged 65 and over group 57.4% vaccinated, of 2108 eligible people. Flu vaccinations - Under 65 At Risk Groups 40.5% vaccinated, of 852 eligible people. High Blood Pressure Management 77.97% Mental Health 89.80% with a plan, out of 49 patients. Patient Satisfaction appointment Times 48.41% were satisfied. Percentage of children aged 1 completed primary course of 5:1 vaccine 62.50% vaccinated. According to the Practice website the average salary of one of their GP’s is over £92K per annum. I would have no problem with this if it was a well-run practice with reasonable waiting times to see a GP or offered an option of seeing a GP on line such as Livvi but quite frankly this is appalling and some of this money needs to be invested back into the business. The entire experience of dealing with this practice has left my opinion of the medical profession considerably impugned.

I waited 65 minutes for an emergency appointment, the Doctor was very unhelpful, terse, almost rude and I felt I was a total nuisance, I had seen another doctor the week before who was very understanding and treated me like an intelligent adult. I shall make sure I never see Dr - ---------- again - even in an emergency.
