On Monday 19 July I spoke to KIM on reception at Ley Hill Surgery. I had two queries relating to two different members of my family. Neither query contravened data protection I must add. Kim was able to deal with one matter herself and on the second concern, she asked me to stay on the line whilst she sought advice from a member of the medical team. This lady is not short of ‘people skills’ and if she doesn’t have an answer, she finds someone who does. 10 (at least) out of 10 for this lady. Thank you.

Suggested improvements
On the day, nothing. I know from others that there is still a problem for some people (particularly the elderly), in sitting in one position holding a telephone for quite long periods waiting for it to be answered.

My mother's surgery and whilst Covid has become priority, it's almost impossible to get an appointment. She has a number of health issues like a lot of elderly people. When ordering medication, there's never a follow-up call to ensure she's okay before completing prescription. Other day, I chased outstanding prescription to be advised request had never been received. Asked for it to be sent to a local pharmacy instead of usual postal one. This request totally ignored so mother had to wait extra 2 days and was in great pain as over the counter drugs not strong enough. And why send elderly people to another practice for Covid jabs? Totally unsuitable environment for people unsteady on their feet. Uneven paving, post-jab waiting area open to elements and heaters not up to job. Then a week later, Ley Hill opens for jabs. Not the best decision!

Terrible surgery can never get an oppointment. Reception staff are rude and unhelpful.

This surgery is terrible. The receptionists are so rude. The system is just terrible...imagine divulging your medical problem to a receptionist with no medical expertise...utterly humilating! And if you are old with complex problems God help you! Many of the drs here have no bedside manner and frankly don't seem to care.

Impossible to get an appointment here!!! I rarely go to the doctor I excercise every day I’m 8 stone and have always kept healthy but am now suffering terribly at the end of my tether really with menopause and went 6 months ago, Asian lady doctor said “well you won’t feel like this for ever and hrt is likely to cause breast cancer, stroke etc” 6 months of feeling awful and I’ve finally called again to be told by receptionist there are just no appointments and call back in a week or so when there may be one in the new year!!! There is no patient care here what so ever. I don’t know where to go from here!!
