I'd never recommend this surgery for a patient with a high output ileostomy, I am very sorry they're too much of a complete liability I shouldn't have to be dealing this this kind of stress whilst recovering from major surgery having a temporary ileostomy whilst the ileo pouch was done and whilst that heals until I can use it. Certainly thinking of switching to a more capable GP one that I can trust at the basic minimum, didn't anyone at the practice think of asking me why I need the Loperamide dose (high for people without ileostomies I will admit but for people with one it's regarded as a low dose) of 5 tablets 4 times a day, one before every major meal and then another dose of 5 tablets (or other form of 2mg of Loperamide) before I go to bed. This is entirely unacceptable by a highly regarded GP surgery, sad really. I am a life long (of course with this condition) sufferer of Familial Adenomatous Polyposis and have had my 2nd surgery to remove my entire large bowel (or what was left of it after having the entire colon removed in the summer of 2000). Just feel really let down by what I considered a great GP Practice, also got told about to watch out for constipation even when that never happens (or unless there's serious problems with it) an ileostomy. This is wholly unacceptable by any GP surgery, since I was given this dose of Loperamide by highly trained doctors at a more senior level!
